When Flora asked me to become involved in the event this year, I was thrilled! Id thought about doing the Flora Womens Mini Marathon before but hadnt got around to it. I saw it as a challenge that I couldnt resist. Its a great excuse to get in shape while raising much needed funds for charity!
I am really lazy and find it hard to motivate myself to go to the gym, but now that I am doing the Flora Womens Mini Marathon I am on a mission to get into the team in the Fitness Together gym about three times a week.
My daily schedule is pretty hectic so it can be difficult to factor in gym time but with this finer weather I am managing to get out walking in the evenings which I love!
I generally don't stick to a diet and love junk food. But now and again I do a detox and only eat fruit and veg for a few days. I recently found out that I have slightly raised cholesterol, which was a big surprise! So Im making some amends to my diet to tackle that, getting my Flora pro.activ and trying to cut out the bad fats!
At the moment, my plan for race day is too run a little and walk a little; mostly Im really looking forward to the fantastic atmosphere on the day, meetings lots of inspiring ladies and raising money for charity!
