Im thrilled to be getting involved again this year! It is almost impossible to imagine the atmosphere of joining 40,000 other women on race day, all of whom are out to have a good day and raise money for charities that they are really passionate about. From the starting line where were all stretching like mad and comparing techniques, there are women helping other women to put on sun block on forgotten shoulders, tighten bra straps etc. Every one is in it together and really supportive of each other throughout the course.

As well as my fitness regime I have made some changes to my diet and nutrition in the run up to the June Bank Holiday. I recently did the Flora Heart Age Tool (www.floraheartage.com) and was so chuffed to see that my heart is two years younger than my actual age. Even small things like switching from a full fat butter to Flora light and ensuring I eat a balanced diet will pay dividends and personally, I think I am off to a great start!

I must admit however that Im finding it a bit difficult to type today the reason being yesterdays workout in the gym was all upper body. Declan my trainer from Fittness Together says its good to be sore the next day. Its a sign that the muscles are working well & building up to race day. Yeah whatever Declan!

My friends are having a great old laugh at my creaky body on the days after training and it never takes them long to figure out which part of the body was trained going on the way Im leaning or groaning!

I definitely feel fitter but Im a little bit behind schedule as I got a bad cold for 2 weeks and couldnt train so Im kind of playing catch up. Keep up the training ladies. Itll all be worth it on the day!
